VIC Police Still Seeking ID Of Man Found Dead In Park Wearing Designer Suit

Victoria Police are still trying to identify a man found dead in a Brunswick West park on Monday morning, and they’re hoping his distinctive clothing will prove to be of assistance in their investigation.

The man was found by a passer-by at around 8.30 yesterday, roughly 50 metres away from a carpark at Dunstan Reserve. He has been described as around 185cm tall, of southern European appearance, and it’s thought he was between 35 and 55 years of age.

Notably, he was found wearing an Ermenegildo Zegna suit, which Detective Senior Sergeant Stephen McIntyre says would have cost anywhere between $1,500 and $5,000. He was also wearing a dark blue t-shirt and black dress shoes.

The circumstances of the man’s death have yet to be determined, but Detective McIntyre says the man had wounds suggesting a knife attack. He said it appeared he’d been attacked in the carpark, and that a trail of blood led to his body.
It’s believed his death occurred at some point on Sunday afternoon, and authorities are working to determine if his death was related to a break-in at a nearby sports club that occurred on Sunday night.
Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
