Five people have been killed and several more have been wounded after a shooter opened fire at the Maryland offices of the Capital Gazette newspaper.
CNN reports the shooter attacked the paper’s newsroom in Annapolis before being arrested by law enforcement authorities.
Phil Davis, a crime and court reporter for the Capital Gazette, tweeted a single shooter “opened fire on multiple employees” during the incident.
Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. Can’t say much more and don’t want to declare anyone dead, but it’s bad.

There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you’re under your desk and then hear the gunman reload

At a press briefing, Acting Police Chief of Anne Arundel County Bill Krampf said several victims are “gravely injured”.
Citing a law enforcement source, CNN reports the shooter initially refused to cooperate with law enforcement authorities, and was not found to be carrying any ID.
It is also reported the FBI was unable to immediately identify the shooter.
No potential motive for the shooting has been released.
More to come.
