Uma Thurman Personally Calls Out Harvey Weinstein With Intense #MeToo Post

Uma Thurman has issued a brief but intense statement regarding the ongoing Harvey Weinstein scandal, posting a still from Kill Bill and telling her Instagram followers that the alleged sexual abuser doesn’t even deserve a metaphorical bullet.

In a post ostensibly about Thanksgiving, the legendary actress said she too had been the victim of sexual harassment or assault. She also referenced her recent response to the Weinstein allegations, in which she somehow managed to contain palpable rage when discussing the Hollywood producer.

“I said I was angry recently, and I have a few reasons, #metoo, in case you couldn’t tell by the look on my face,” Thurman said.

I feel it’s important to take your time, be fair, be exact, so…
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! (Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators – I’m glad it’s going slowly –
You don’t deserve a bullet)

That “stay tuned” echoes the sentiment she delivered in the October 18 red carpet interview, in which she said “I’ve been waiting to feel less angry and when I am ready, I will say what I have to say.”

The actress has been making moves away from the public eye, too.

This week, Thurman dropped her agency CAA, a firm which has also been impacted by the outpouring of accusations of sexual abuse in the entertainment industry; a top agent was recently dismissed over claims he is a serial sexual harasser, and Kevin Spacey was dropped by the firm following a copious number of abuse allegations.

Thurman has appeared in a host of films produced by The Weinstein Company, including Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill saga.

Previously, Tarantino said he “knew enough to do more than I did” regarding Weinstein’s alleged abuse, adding “if I had done the work I should have done then, I would have had to not work with him.”

Watch this space, because Thurman obviously has more to say on the matter.
