UK Muslim Council Head Says Driver Deliberately Hit Worshippers Near Mosque

The head of the Muslim Council of Britain says worshippers leaving a Ramadan prayer service in London overnight were intentionally run over by a van driver.

Harun Khan says worshippers were deliberately struck by the van on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park. The Council itself writes “our prayers are with the victims.”

The incident took place in the vicinity of Finsbury Park Mosque and the suburb’s Muslim Welfare House at around midnight.

Police officers were called to the scene shortly after, and London Ambulance Service has reported “a number of casualties” at the scene.

One person has been arrested in relation to the incident.
Law enforcement authorities have not yet confirmed if the incident was intentional.
