If you were thinking of writing the screenplay for a British adaptation of The Hangover, now would probably be the perfect time to start taking notes: two men have been arrested after drunkenly climbing to the top of a 14th-century cathedral.
According to the BBC, two men, aged 25 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of “aggravated trespassing” following a rescue effort to get them back down from the 300-foot heights they had climbed to.
The Telegraph is reporting that police were called at around 11pm on Sunday evening, when people noticed the pair clinging on to concrete pillars at the top of Coventry Cathedral. The building has remained an empty shell after it was bombed during World War II.
Peter Drummond from West Midlands Fire Service described drunkenly climbing the cathedral as “not the brightest thing to be doing“:

A spokesperson from Coventry Cathedral told the BBC that, in light of two hammered dudes climbing up to the top of the ruins, they will be “reviewing [their] security procedures“.
