Two Sydney Schools Allegedly In Lockdown After Terror Threat

East Hills Boys High School in Panania and Sir Joseph Banks High School in Revesby are allegedly in lockdown because of a terror threat email, The Daily Telegraph is reporting.

NSW Police confirmed that “there is a police operation underway” at East Boys, but didn’t comment on Sir Joseph Banks, nor did either school have anything to say.

This comes barely two weeks after UNSW issued a security warning after an anonymous 4chan user threatened to shoot students, and just five days after Calare Public School in NSW‘s central west went into lockdown following reports of a gunman on school grounds.

A spokeswoman from the NSW Police media department said said: “All staff and students are safe with each school in lock-out. The schools are working with NSW police with their investigation. Parents contacting the school are being told that their children are safe but they can collect them if they want to.”

It’s also looking like this *might* have been a social media post – police are reminding the public that it’s an offence to post “threatening or violence-inducing messages on social media.”
