Trump Adviser Says There’s A “Special Place In Hell” For Canadian PM Trudeau

A senior trade adviser to US President Donald Trump said there is a “special place in Hell” for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, after the Canadian leader said his nation would slap tariffs on some goods imported from their southern neighbours.

Peter Navarro, who has Trump’s ear on matters relating to international trade, lashed out at Trudeau after a predictably unpredictable G7 summit.

ICYMI, the G7 nations – The USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, Italy, France, and the UK – convened in the Province of Quebec over the past few days to shoot the shit about matters of international importance, including trade.

They also produced a suitably cooked photo of the experience.

The plan was that the nations would sign a communique reaffirming their commitment to the same goals. One of the line items: an acknowledgement that “free, fair and mutually beneficial trade and investment, while creating reciprocal benefits, are key engines for growth and job creation.”

Things went… moderately well, and Trump was on his way to Singapore for his scheduled meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un*, when Trudeau announced his nation would not be “pushed around” by the US slapping tariffs on Canadian goods, which would impact the Canadian export economy.

Trump then withdrew his commitment to the G7 communique, effectively upending the goals of the summit, and tweeted that Trudeau was “very dishonest & weak”.

Trudeau maintained that his statements after the summit did not contradict anything Canada told the American delegation during the meeting.

That brings us to Navarro, who lashed out at Trudeau on Fox News using sentiments allegedly carried on Air Force One.

“Bad faith Justin Trudeau” fucked Trump over, Navarro said.

“[Trump] was even willing to sign that socialist communique, and what did Trudeau do as soon as the plane took off from Canadian airspace? Trudeau stuck our President in the back,” he said.

That statement comes after an equally confronting threat from Trump himself: that the US would simply stop trading with its allies if its very specific and unilaterally-beneficial trade demands were not met.

Oddly enough, Australia has been spared some of Trump’s ire, but it’ll probably take one Fox News segment about an American tourist being scared by an echidna before he decides our nation is just jonesing for some aluminium tariffs.

lmao.
