Tourist Captures Terrifying Moment Pipe Bomb Rips Through Bangkok Shrine

This is the stuff of nightmares.

At least 19 people have been killed, and more than 100 injured, after a pipe bomb exploded at popular tourist spot Erawan Shrine in the Thai capital of Bangkok.

The explosion occurred around 7pm local time and, although no one is yet to claim responsibility, authorities have called the attack “unprecedented” and “likely terrorism”. 

CCTV footage from nearby shops and the five-star hotel next door have been circulating but Shanghaiist just uploaded video allegedly captured on the phone of “a Chinese tourist”, whose fate remains unknown.

Of the 19 killed in the blast, most were international tourists, but DFAT and the Australian Embassy have not yet confirmed if any of the victims are
 Australian
