Tourism Australia Says ‘There’s Nothing Like Australia’

Tourism Australia has stuck with its “There’s Nothing Like Australia” slogan for a newly launched campaign series, despite the odious ‘g’day mate’ stereotype-laden 2010 TVC with the same tagline. The new campaign is refreshingly absent of koalas (although, there is a wandering wombat in there… okay and a wallaby) and focuses on marketing the happiest country on Earth as an outrageously scenic, supremely chill wonderland where every body of water is a prime spot for floating under the setting sun.

The ad is gorgeously photographed and, despite feeling a bit like a patchwork of various State tourism campaigns we’ve seen before, with shots of Great Barrier Reef islands, Tasmania’s picturesque mountain ranges and The Kimberley you can understand how an international traveler would deem it a spectacular slice of heaven (to borrow NZ’s catchphrase).

Take a look at the 3 minute “There’s Nothing Like Australia” ad which, Mumbrella writes, has already debuted in China; then check out the Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland specific spots below.
