Tom Hanks Embraces Thirst Traps Of A Different Kind By Showing Off A Bag Of His Plasma On IG

Tom Hanks, long time Hollywood movie hero, has officially ticked over to IRL world hero by donating a large bag of his own plasma for scientific research in the battle against COVID-19. A bag that he posted to Instagram, which really pushes the boundaries of what a thirst trap can be.

His sweet Oscar winning, disease-fighting, 63-year-old juices will be studied by scientists at UCLA as part of research into developing a coronavirus vaccine. I always knew he had it in him (the heroism, not the plasma, well I guess the plasma too…I’ve thought about it on occasion).

Yes, really.

Scientists believe Tom and his wife Rita Wilson are likely to be carrying antibodies that could be advantageous to researchers looking to find a cure for the virus, since they both have successfully recovered from it.

Sweet sweet Tom juice.

Tom Hanks (the man, the myth, the ledge) has already coined a name for the cure if his blood and plasma help. “I would like to call it the ‘Hank-ccine,” old mate said. Classic.

“After the paperwork, it’s as easy as taking a nap,” said the certified dreamboat of the experience of having his plasma extracted.

Tom and Rita returned to their home of LA after being quarantined in Australia (we’re sorry we did this to you) following a positive test for the disease back in March. They have been active on social media, keeping a positive AF attitude, updating and informing the world on their Coronavirus journey and even hosting Saturday Night Live from home. WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THEM?

Thanks T.Hanks! But this pic of your huge plasma will not stop my thirsty DMs, mark my words.
