This Reporter Kept Referring To “Hitting The Bags Hard” & I Refuse To Believe It Was An Accident

A ‘Today’ show journalist used the phrase “the kids are hitting the bags hard” not once, not twice, but three times in a TV segment this morning, and we’re only half convinced it was an accident.

Reporter Tim Davies was giving a weather update from a Sydney footy field this morning, while behind him a junior rugby team went about their morning training.

“These guys and girls, they hit those bags pretty hard for a Friday morning,” he said, innocently enough.

But then he dropped the phrase again. “We’ve got the kids out here, hitting those bags hard,” he said, mid-interview with an unsuspecting mum.

And then Davies concluded that interview by using it a third time: “The kids hit the bags pretty hard and the mums, well, they hit the bar.”

The kids are hitting those bags, huh? Pretty hard, you say?

Now we’re not implying Tim Davies is familiar with hoovering nose beers in the Ryan’s Bar toilets on a Friday night. There’s absolutely no suggestion here that he’s one to text the lads chat “who’s in for bags” approximately 30 minutes after clocking off on a Friday night. We’re not even suggesting he’s DABBLED in the old nosé.

But the fact of the matter is that he said “these kids are hitting the bags pretty hard” three times, and that is funny as shit. You can watch this primo Aussie TV moment above
