TLC Had To Cancel Last Night’s Aus Open Gig Due To Tech-Melting Heat

While the punters at the Australian Open last night were met with a show-and-a-half with Roger Federer’s win at the 2018 Men’s Singles Final, there was a sinewy layer of disappointment in the air coming from the sweaty pores of 90s hip-hop fans.

TLC, scheduled to perform before the final at 6pm, were forced to cancel their set because of the bloody heat.

According to The Music, the concert was cancelled just before the duo were supposed to head on stage, a spokesperson citing a complete technical nightmare due to the heat. Full refunds will be made.

“We have had a full computer meltdown tonight and unfortunately TLC cannot sing because they can’t sing without their computers,” the spokesperson said.

The duo didn’t make a statement at the time, but took to Twitter to apologise to fans who had waited in the day’s 40+ degree heat.

According to your childhood fave Chilli aka Rozonda Thomas, they were ready to go backstage but the decision was “out of pur [sic] hands.” Devs. Tionne ‘T-boz’ Watkins promised to make it up to fans, but as of yet, hasn’t announced anything. Stay locked to their socials.

If you’re still chasing to hear Waterfalls, you can catch them on the rest of their Oz tour with Boys II Men.

We’re not sure what the cross-section of climate skeptics and 90s hip hop stans is, but we’re sure the shock of realising there’d be no ‘No Scrubs’ would’ve shaken their world-view forever. So at least that’s something.
