TLC Are Touring Australia This November And Scrubs Aren’t Invited

Good news for people who enjoy getting down to the bangin’ hits of the 90s (see: “anyone with a beating heart”), one of the all-time greatest ever pop acts is headed our way in November.
Beyond-iconic group TLC has announced a string of shows in both Australia and New Zealand, with their mythical new and final album still very much rumoured to be released within a matter of months.
The group, comprised of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, are bringing their waterfall-chasin’ awareness tour to big theatres for a string of dates that were announced earlier this morning.
With iconic albums ‘CrazySexyCool,’ and ‘FanMail,’ the group took the pop world by storm in the mid-to-late nineties, selling over 71 million albums combined worldwide. The tragic and untimely death of core member Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes in 2002 put the brakes on the band’s career, though Chilli and T-Boz have continued on to honour their friend and bandmember in the years since.
The group announced a new album, their fifth (and the first since 2002’s ‘3D‘) would be produced and released, marking the band’s final recorded output. A successful Kickstarter campaign raised over $400,000 in total.
Very little is known about the project, though the band has confirmed it is recorded and completed. Distribution negotiations have pushed the album back to early 2017, and the only public statement the band has made on the album reads thusly:
“This album, our final album, is dedicated to all of you that have stuck with us, always challenging us to do our best. And of course, it’s for the new fans too! We just want ot put out great music that touches everyone. That’s it.”

Until then, this tour is a massive one, and if you’re lucky enough to live in either Auckland or Adelaide, you’ll get a little bonus Montell Jordan as well. He of “This Is How We Do It” fame will join TLC as support for those two shows.
