TLC Announces Their First Ever Tour Of Australia

90s pop enthusiasts (aka “the purest music fans of all”), rejoice! TLC, the group responsible for enduring megahits such as “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs” have announced they’ll be visiting our shores for the very first time ever this coming June. Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins will, at long last, bring their sassy, infectious RnB to us with a run of four shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

The two surviving members of the group have reformed occasionally over the past few years, having remained largely inactive since the death of original member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in a tragic car accident in 2002. In 2009 the group performed in Japan to mark the 20th anniversary of Waterfalls, and last year they again got together with Lil Mama to perform at the 2013 American Music Awards.
The group formed in 1990 and released several wildly successful albums, including the absolute classic CrazySexyCool, the financial success of which helped TLC become the second highest selling female group of all time, beaten only by the incomparable Spice Girls. On a global scale, the group has sold in excess of 65 million records. They have been working on an as-yet untitled fifth studio album – their first in 12 years – that is slated for release at some point this year.
The Australian concerts will feature T-Boz and Chilli along with a full band and back-up dancing ensemble, and an elaborate audio-visual display, which will include projections of the late Left Eye.

It’s all going down in June, which is still months away.

So we’re not entirely sure how we’re going to contain our excitement. But we’ll try. Somehow. One day at a time. HOLY CRAP YES TLC TOUR, YOU GUYS!
