JoJo Siwa, the 16-year-old YouTuber and Nickelodeon star, announced on Tuesday that she would be coming to Australia for the first time in 2020.
A multi-city concert tour, Siwa’s D.R.E.A.M. tour will visit Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, kicking off in January next year.
Known for her extremely tight ponytail and insanely colourful live performances, Siwa’s star has skyrocketed in the years since she appeared on ‘Dance Moms’. She now boasts over 10 million subscribers on youTube and this year made TIME Magazine’s list of the most influential people on the internet.
As a June story from Rolling Stone puts it, Siwa is the influencer of all influencers for kids:
“She herself has become the teen idol influencer for post-Generation Z youth, with toddler-age kids turning her flamboyant fashion sense and unceasingly optimistic outlook into a one-girl, multimillion-dollar industry. Her songs, YouTube vlogs and animated series feel more like carefully executed bonuses rather than her raison d’etre.”
Like most modern talents, Siwa is bankrolled by a huge merch line, selling millions of her signature hair bows over the years.
Siwa will be in Brisbane on January 11, Sydney on the 13th, and Melbourne on the 16th. Pre-sale tickets go live on Friday September 13 at 11am.
