Everyone tuck your pants into your socks. This is not a drill. Officials in Melbourne are on the scene in the heart of the CBD attending to a tiger snake – yes, in the city – that has crawled its way into a street-side gutter for what appears to be a bit of a chill.
The creature slithered into the gutter on Spencer Street, causing police to cordon off the entire street corner at Spencer and Collins Streets in order to stand guard until snake catchers can attend the scene and remove the snake.
Please avoid the corner of Collins & Spencer streets. We’re currently trying to remove a snake who seems to be a little lost. pic.twitter.com/ujN3IU52uw

The reptile does not appear to be agitated, although there is reportedly no clue as to how the wriggly little mate wound up there in the first place.
City of Melbourne officials are advising punters to steer clear of the area while the snake is removed.
Public Transport Victoria officials are presumed to be en route to the area in case tit bolts across the road into Southern Cross Station without touching on.
No matter what the case, this certainly wouldn’t be the first time this week a legless bastard has wound up in a Spencer Street gutter.
Remarkably, I get paid to do this.
