Thousands Queue For Limited Edition Bundaberg Rum

Celebrating 125 years of giant, talking, laid-back polar bears with borderline drinking problems, Queensland distillery Bundaberg have just released a very limited edition celebratory rum – and thousands upon thousands of bogans collectors and fans lined up for hours to get their hands on a bottle.

The release event at the Bundaberg distillery saw queues rivalling Tiger Airways at Terminal 4, formed by those eager for a sample of the very special edition of Queensland’s favourite fight juice which Bundaberg describes as per the following:

To create the perfect blend, Bundaberg’s top-shelf thinkers mixed the oldest and rarest rums ever produced by the Distillery – starting with a 35-year-old rum which was set aside many years ago for this momentous occasion. Then, following months of blending and tasting, a masterpiece was born.

Though complex in flavour, this rum retains the hallmark Bandaberg Rum taste, layered with delicate hints of honey, caramel, spice and a long, smooth finish. This rum represents the pinnacle of all that the Bundaberg Distilling Company has achieved in its rich 125-year history.

With prices starting at $125 for one of only 3000 125 ml bottles, and $1250 for one of only 1888 700 ml bottles, (with heftily marked up bottles already appearing on eBay), it’s not the sort of thing you’d want to get caught stealing/topping up with apple juice when your parents go away for the weekend.
