This Poor Lost Doggo Watched Her Ex-Owners Rescue Another Pup & It Hurts

We as a people do not deserve dogs, so if you want to continue on your day without a giant kick in the guts, then just look at this beautiful doggo and go.

LEAVE! BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!

Okay. *breathes deeply*

A dog waiting to be rescued from an animal shelter saw her old owners come in – and rescue another dog.

Zuzu, a two year old German Shephard, was brought in to the shelter in L.A., California, after she escaped her family’s yard and was mistaken by the neighbours for a stray.

According to Desi Lara, a volunteer at Downey Animal Care and Control, they were doing “doggy intros” when Zuzu became overly excited. Obviously, she’d seen her old humans, which WOULD NORMALLY BE THE HAPPY END TO THIS TALE, RIGHT?

“With her fast wagging tail seeing her owners Zuzu lit up like a Christmas Tree,” Desi wrote on Facebook. “She looked like the happiest dog. Yeah, she’s going home.”

NOPE. NO HAPPY ENDINGS HERE.

“Talking to her owners, they told me they were not here to reclaim her, they were getting another dog.”

Their reason? Zuzu “wasn’t a happy dog anymore” – she’d been crying and broken since her dad passed away.

“Their reason was because she was crying and sad since her father passed away. She wasn’t a happy dog anymore,” she wrote.

“Their solutions for her unhappiness was just leaving her here! And go get another dog. Glad she’s here now. That’s not love for her.”

Desi told PEDESTRIAN.TV that she was sad for Zuzu, because her heart was broken and she did not understand what was going on.

“I think the owners in their mind thought they were doing what was best for her,” she told us. “Not everyone thinks of dogs as family, their solutions was to let her go, sadly.

“Once they told me they were not taking her, I got protective, I didn’t want to talk to them, I didn’t want to convince them to take her. I just thought about Zuzu and getting her placed and loved. Staff and Volunteers hear these stories all the time, actually worse ones. I hope all this attention will help lots of dogs.”

Zuzu hasn’t been adopted yet, but Desi says the shelter has received a lot of interested parties.

Someone adopt this doggo soon before I fly to California and do it myself.
