“This Doesn’t Bring Me Shame”: Aaron Carter Comes Out As Bisexual On Twitter

Pop musician Aaron Carter has been in the news a fair bit recently. He was hospitalised in June after being “bullied and body shamed” about his weight and appearance; he was arrested for a DUI days after saying he’d never get one; and he had a little pop at brother Nick in an interview with Entertainment Weekly just a couple weeks ago.

This latest bit of press for the former teen star, however, is at least a little more positive – in an earnest note posted to Twitter earlier today, Aaron Carter has come out as bisexual.

In the note, Carter says that he’s known his sexual orientation since his early days in the pop industry as a very young teenager:

I grew up in this entertainment industry at a very young age and when I was around 13-years-old I started to find boys and girls attractive. There were years that went by that I thought about it, but it wasn’t until I was 17-years-old, after a few relationships with girls, I had an experience with a male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with and grew up with.

Fans, unsurprisingly, have been overwhelmingly supportive.

He’s got a couple of new tracks out at the moment if you want to get back on that former teen idol train.
