This Croc Wrestling A 3-Metre Snake Is About As Bloody Aussie As it Gets

Pretty much every country claims to be the best in the world, but I reckon it’s indisputable that, out of all the countries in the world, Australia is the most advanced in terms of being a parody of itself.
Not a day goes by without a story of a deadly animal doing something weird or of some guy doing something weird with a deadly animal or of a bunch of people doing something insanely stupid in dangerous weather conditions – it is our culture and we are striving every day to be the most heightened, dumbest version of it that we possibly can.
What’s more Australian than a man being attacked by a crocodile or a man being attacked by a snake? Not much, but it might just be pipped at the post by nature’s ultimate contest: snake versus crocodile.
If that sounds like the incredibly dumb concept behind a very dumb movie – guess what, it is:
Lake Argyle, WA resident Wayne Chevis was a bit startled to see not-small snake have a not-very-friendly tangle with a crocodile as he as driving from Lake Argyle to Darwin
Chevis reckons the snake (which I have decided to dub ‘Fangs O’Fuckessy‘ had grabbed the freshwater crocodile (Snappers McStrewth) at the river crossing and dragged him onto the road:
“I’ve never seen anything like that before. I’ve never seen a snake eating a crocodile, so it was quite eye-opening. The snake, I reckon if you dragged him out and measured him he probably would have been about two-and-a-half, almost three metres long.

“He was quite a big snake, quite thick.”
According to Chevis, it looked like the snake was coming out on top:
“There were no injuries on the snake at all, so I think the snake had the upper hand completely in that little battle that was happening.”
RIP Snappers McStrewth. Truly, you were the best of us.
