Thicc Whife Guy, or Robbie Tripp as he is also known, earned the ire of the internet after an Instagram post praising his Thicc Wife (or ‘Sarah‘) went viral.
“I love this woman and her curvy body,” he said, gripping her flesh. “As a teenager, I was often teased by my friends for my attraction to girls on the thicker side…”
Essentially the vein of the backlash was that women who celebrate their larger bodies are ignored, harassed or silenced, yet when a man does it he gets 35,000 likes and a BuzzFeed article about him being praised.
