There Could Be A $1 Coin Worth $3K In Your Wallet RN

I would be remiss if I didn’t bring you the fresh goss on what’s hot in the world of Australian hobby coin collecting. In fact, my plan to turn PEDESTRIAN.TV into Australia’s number #1 coin collecting blog are proceeding very, very well.

According to the brains trust at The Australian Coin Collecting Blog, there are a bunch of $1 coins possibly in circulation right now which could be worth up to three grand depending on its condition. Apparently, the so-called ‘double mule’ is particularly sought after by coin collectors.
Have a looksie at this pic:
The coin on the left – the so-called double mule – features a slightly thicker rim, which apparently happened thanks to an error in the minting process back in 200. Yeah, this tiny batch of thicc-rimmed bad boys are only of the 2000 vintage.
The blog, while offering the caveat that coin prices can vary wildly depending on how keen/insane the buyer is, points at sales anywhere from $400 up to $3000. Obviously, if your coin has been fed into thousands of vending machines or dropped in that weird red liquid in pub tip jars it will likely command a lower price.
And given that they were minted seventeen years ago, there’d be few of them in lovely nick. Still, check your wallet’s coin section immediately. If you have one of these coins, you owe me one beer. DM me for delivery details.
