The Rock Recreated His Iconic Turtleneck & Fanny Pack Photo For ‘SNL’

The Rock‘s glorious entrance into the Five-Timers Club over at ‘Saturday Night Live‘ might have started with the blockbuster “announcement” that he would be running for President in 2020 with Tom Hanks as his running-mate, but eagle-eyed punters would’ve spotted an even bigger shocker towards the end of the episode.
The man born Dwayne Johnson has, in recent years, spawned a generation of Halloween costumes thanks to a rather unflattering photo of him from the late 90s surfacing. You all know the one by now. It is peak-90s Rock.

My god, it is perfect. The chain over the turtleneck. The single tissue protecting the elbow fabric. The thumb tucked squarely into the fanny pack‘s waistband. Unbelievable content.
The Rock has repeatedly joked – in very good spirits – about the photo, at one point noting that “the funniest thing about this picture is, this is not a joke. I walked out of the house like this. Like: Hey baby, this is it, right?’
But thanks to ‘SNL‘ we’ve got this glorious update on the old standard.
The Rock re-created the iconic getup and pose for a promo image used to lead into, and out of, ad breaks. And folks, let me tell you, when it comes to wearing that turtleneck, ya boi has still got it.
It’s *BEAUTIFUL*. He even turned it up to 11 by throwing in a little bonus People’s Eyebrow.
As bleak as everything else in the world may seem at times, thank the good dog we’ve still got The Rock.
We’ve always, always still got The Rock.
