The Original ‘Arthur’ Channel Says Quit Making Filthy Memes, You Savages

Rule 34 of the Internet states if something exists, a porn will be made of it.

If Twitter’s latest adoption of Arthur The Aardvark is anything to go by, Rule 34.1 states if you can’t outright animate characters doing the dirty, y’all can at least dub screenshots with smutty captions.

ICYMI, even outside of the already widely-adopted Arthur fist meme, there’s a wealth of premium grot out there. Behold, a selection curated by the best minds Reddit has to offer:

Welp, Boston’s public television station WGBH, legitimate fuck-free creators of the show, have issued a response to that rapid re-imagination of Arthur, Buster, Francine and Co. as nothin’ but mammals.

They’d like you to stop. Please. You monsters.

Spokesperson Kelly London said although “we certainly are lucky to have a fan base that is so engaged with Arthur, especially those millennials who grew up with him,’’ the network sure is “disappointed by the few that are outside of good taste.’’

Which, to be frank, is nearly all of ’em. London also wrote ‘‘our hope is that Arthur and his friends will be depicted in a way that is respectful and appropriate for all audiences,” which is a pretty unlikely proposal at this point.

The Boston Globe even reached out to Marc Brown, the creator of the original book series, but he didn’t immediately respond. We imagine replying to media enquiries would infringe on his busy schedule of rocking back and forth while weeping.
