The New York Times Got A Bunch Of Your Favourite Actors To Kiss

You might remember earlier this year when a video featuring what appeared to be complete strangers making out with each other swept the internet, only for it to be revealed to be a video full of actors put together for a sneaky advertising campaign.
Despite the resulting sneakiness, the initial concept was enough to connect with people; the idea of sharing intimate emotion with someone totally unknown to you is, let’s face it, kind of alluring.
So for reasons that are a little beyond us, The New York Times has gone ahead and produced this, as part of their annual end-of-year production of a series of short films.
9 Kisses pairs together a whole mess of your favourite actors and gets them to do naught but mack on with each other, all in different scenarios, all with (largely) the same end goal.
That, quite literally, is the entire concept. It’s shot beautifully, and the range of scenarios they’ve come up with are certainly disparate and weirdly interesting. But the bottom line here, people, is you’re about to watch 18 people suck face.
So sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy…
…the classic, storybook romance of Bentobox Chundersplash and Reese Withoutaspoon;
the high school awkwardness of Steve Carell and Laura Dern;
the giddy New Year’s joy of Rosario Dawson and Jenny Slate;
the over-zealousness of Chadwick Boseman and Kristen Stewart;
the straight weirdness of Patricia Arquette and Jason Schwartzman;
the drunken psyche out of David Oyelowo and Timothy Spall;
the passion in the heat of battle of Jack O’Connell and Shailene Woodley;
the dancefloor smash pash of John Lithgow and Julianne Moore;
and the wedding-day heartbreak of Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Miles Teller.

I think I need to wash my face after that. I just feel a little gritty all of a sudden.
