The New Monopoly Pieces Are Here, So You Can All Fight Over The T-Rex

It seems almost cruel to include a T-Rex as part of a Monopoly set, in that his tiny arms would make playing a board game virtually impossible, not to mention the fact that he’d probably just get mad, devour the other players then feel bad about himself.
Be that as it may, Hasboro unveiled the brand new Monopoly overnight, with three shiny new tokens to replace the thimble, the wheelbarrow and the stinky old shoe, which just weren’t cutting it anymore in the competitive 2017 marketplace.
Along with the teeny tiny t-rex, a rubber ducky and a penguin are the newest tokens – with the Scottie dog and the random cat still in play, this means that almost everyone will get to be a cute animal now.
The top hat, the battleship and the racing car, remnants of the original 1937 Monopoly set, round out the remainder of the tokens, so I guess it sucks for you if you end up stuck with one of them.

The new game pieces were chosen by way of a worldwide vote, with an estimated 4.3 million people choosing from 56 possible newcomers, including a monster truck, a series of emojis and some weird-looking fluffy bunny slippers.

Monopoly takes literally hours to play, crushes souls and destroys friendships, but that sure is a cute mini T-Rex …

Just in! We’re tipping our top hats to the Thimble, Boot and Wheelbarrow, and welcoming the T-rex, rubber ducky, & penguin tokens. (Link in bio) #MonopolyVote
