The Latest ‘Ghostbusters 3’ Cast Rumours are Incredible

Over the past few days, some fascinating rumours about a potential plot and cast for the upcoming Ghostbusters 3 have come to light as a result of the Sony Pictures email leak.

Various outlets have reported that Sony is courting some big names for an all-female version of the famous line-up, to be directed by Bridesmaids guy and very capable individual Paul Feig.
These include the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, Lizzy Caplan and Amy Schumer, on top of Rebel Wilson, who has allegedly already met with her Feig about taking part.
Earlier today, another set of leaked emails revealed that Channing Tatum is very keen to produce a separate Ghostbusters film (“COME OONNNN!” he begged at one point), along with good pal and newly-minted action star Chris Pratt.
Whether or not they are successful in their campaign to bust ghosts, the pair are reportedly keen to star in something together, so needless to say, we’ll be keeping a good lookout for that.
In an entirely separate development, Ryan ‘Hey Girl’ Gosling has also expressed interest in being part of the franchise – his character would not need a proton pack, as he would be able to soothe and contain ghosts just by smiling in their direction.
Now for some really big news. Those who are wary of spoilers better back the hell away – the aforementioned Paul Feig has come up with a plot for a new Ghostbusters installment, and it’s a cracker.
Per a report in Vulture, the new film will be a “scarier” and “more high tech” reboot, set in a world where the Ghostbusters work for the government, who continually deny their existence, because ghosts don’t “officially exist.”
The best part:
The villain will be a convicted murderer, ideally played by Peter Dinklage, who turns into a ghost after his execution is hit by “a supercharged electrical storm.” This gives him the power to raise an army of other ghosts, which could be made up of famous villains throughout history.
He is also reportedly considering Saturday Night Live‘s Cecily Strong to play the all-female team’s “bureaucratic nemesis”, who is “always saying terrible things about them at press conferences and then apologising behind the scenes.”
GHOST DINKLAGE! CECILY STRONG!
Literally everything in this post is good news. We’re even happy to get behind the idea of a “scarier” reboot, considering how excellent all those other things sound.
Please make any or all of these things happen.
