WELL. We’d all thoroughly bought into the Runaway Bride narrative that “social experiment” / ghastly manipulative reality TV show ‘Married At First Sight‘ was selling us re: Andrew ‘Jonesy’ Jones and his first “wife” Lauren.
But shock and horror! Could it be that the producers of the show have been keeping something from us?

According to the events as played out on the show, Lauren ditched Jonesy totally out of the blue in episode 5 – he just woke up and she was gorn.
There was a lot of sad footage of Jonesy alone on a couch, calling Lauren’s phone only to have it ring out. Heartstrings were tugged. Sympathy was elicited. And as the whole thing propelled the drama-machine of getting Jonesy together with “wife” #2, Cheryl, it was quickly forgotten about.

However, Kyle and Jackie O revealed on KISSFM Friday morning that “a source” had told them that there was a whole lot more to Lauren’s beating a hasty retreat (and it wasn’t because he was too short).
Apparently, the thing that spooked her was that Jonesy tried to fight a bouncer when the newlyweds hit the clubs in Bondi.
The source told Jackie O:
“They were going all good but then they went to a club and when the bouncer said ‘Sorry mate you can’t come in’ because it was past one o’clock A.M., Andrew apparently lost his shit and that is when she turned around and took off.“She was like, ‘I’m not going to marry this guy who is losing his shit over something like that’. It must have been bad for her to just run off because apparently Andrew didn’t let up, he got shitty and started going off at the bouncer.”
Presumably the show producers tried to keep that little titbit under wraps because, well, duh – it’s way better TV if someone just up and bolts for no apparent reason. Also they probably felt the need to keep Jonesy’s obviously villainy on the DL in order to keep viewers from throwing up on their television sets.
Joke’s on them, though, because no amount of editing can keep that dude‘s shittiness a secret! Is anyone surprised by this revelation? No wonder the bloke’s in hiding.
