The Hello Kitty Movie You Didn’t Ask For Is Happening

As we all know, in recent times the modern film industry has had an insatiable appetite for rebooting everything from our childhoods and ruining everything we love, yes? This trend seems to be continuing without interruption, with Hello Kitty jumping on the bizarre, childhood-destroying reboot bandwagon.
That’s correct, that giant white cat/human with a ribbon in her hair is getting her own movie. It was bound to happen, we suppose: there’s only so many backpacks, calculators and pens with a cat’s face on them that can be sold before someone runs out of ideas.
According to Vulture, it’s more than likely going to be animated, not live-action. Which we regard as an absolute travesty, because it could have been a movie version of this drop dead adorable live performance at Hello Kitty’s Supercute Friendship Festival. (Yes, that is the official name of the festival.)
The Hello Kitty movie won’t be in cinemas until sometime in 2019, so you have plenty of time to prepare for the cutesy animated movie you never knew you wanted. At least while we wait, we will be able to stuff our faces with burgers that come in the shape of Hello Kitty’s face.
