Please Guard Your Hearts During The Beaut First Trailer For ‘The Goldfinch’

If you feel like you’ve seen The Goldfinch perched in every bookstore you’ve visited in the past five years, that’s probably because you have. Pretty soon, you’ll be seeing it in cinemas, too.

The first trailer for the feature film has arrived, glistening with all the heartbreaking splendour of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Footage from director John Crowley‘s latest work shows Ansel Elgort as protagonist Theo Decker, desperately trying to make sense of the world after his mother dies in a terrorist attack at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The Goldfinch also stars Nicole Kidman, Sarah Paulson, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Wilson, and young Finn Wolfhard, which is not exactly a weak line-up. With cinematography from absolute king Roger Deakins, The Goldfinch already looks like a joy for the eyes and a punch to the heart. Expect this one to pop up in cinemas later this year.
