If you were a terrible son / daughter yesterday, you may have opted to give your Mother Dearest Facebook-specific ‘flowers’ via its temporary reaction.
“In honor of Mother’s Day, we are testing the ability for people in a few markets to leave a flower reaction,” Facebook said in a statement.
Pretty sure the % of people virtually thankful for their Mums paled in comparison to the number of flowers Radiohead‘s new ‘Daydreaming’ video post copped, but it’s the thought that counts.
It’s the first time Zuckerberg and co. have offered up a temporary reaction, three months after it expanded the like button to include all them other emotions no one’s really using.
It was thought the flower reaction would only be available for a limited time (it’s still popping up in your feed as it’s still Mother’s Day elsewhere in the world), but there’s a good chance Facebook may continue with customisable reactions if this one proves a success.
Imagine a little Santa for Xmas, or Bill Shorten‘s head for the Election… wait, not that last one.
