The Brexit Leave Campaign Nuked Its Homepage Of All Those Pesky Promises

The British people have spoken, and Brexit is happening. A lot of commentary has focused on how stupid and racist Brexit voters are, but honestly that misses the point more than a little – this is how democracy works. We need to work out why people feel that way, where they’re getting their info, and why they thought exiting the EU was the best way to address their concerns.

The Leave campaign basically indisputably played fast and loose with the facts. Even Leave figurehead Nigel Farage conceded that. They made the promise that the money saved would go into the National Health Service (it won’t) and that immigration could be halted or controlled (it absolutely won’t).
Looks like Leave aren’t keen on those lofty promises remaining online: they’ve wiped their website. If you go there now, you get a faceful of this:

Not everyone is so apologetic, though. Another Leave campaign sent out a press release confirming just how unsorry they were – letting opponents know they can get stuffed.
