The Badge Resurfaces After ‘Bachie’ Brouhaha On The Bloody Kokoda Track

After the reality TV upset to end all upsets, who can blame our friend/foe Nick Cummins – a.k.a. the Honey Badger – for going to ground? The finale of The Bachelor left Australia reeling, and the Badge very sensibly left the country before the last episode even aired. He’s been laying low ever since.

Until now! A bunch of blokes walking Papua New Guinea‘s Kokoda Track to raise $50,000 for the Zahra Foundation in South Australia (which provides assistance to women and children leaving domestic violence situations – good onya fellas) came across the Badger himself, and posted their little find on Instagram.

Just when everyone around the country has been trying to reach the MIA @nickbadger after the @thebacheloraufinale, the #ZahrasQuest boys were the first to chat to him deep in the Kokoda jungle!!! #bachelorau #honeybadger #kokoda

Lisa Wilkinson technically has the honour of being the first to chat with Cummins after the Bachelor finale, with an interview set to air on tomorrow night’s episode of The Project.

But these five mates seem to be the first to publish an interaction with the Honey Badger after the Great Kerfuffle of 2018, so good on ’em once again!

Cummins left Brisbane on Monday to walk the Kokoda Track with mate James Brodie. Like the Zahra’s Quest guys, Cummins and Brodie are also raising money for women’s causes – their charity of choice is the Grass Skirts Project, which empowers women and addresses domestic violence issues in Papua New Guinea through sport. Pretty cool.

The nation is waiting with stern brows and folded arms to hear if Cummins has anything to say for himself after dumping the final two contestants on a show specifically designed to set him up in a relationship because he wasn’t ready for a relationship, and I know a fair few people who are gonna be absolutely ropable if he doesn’t have the excuse to end all excuses. So until Sunday: enjoy the track, Badge!
