The Anti-Abortion Congressman Who Asked His Mistress To Get One Is Retiring

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

The anti-abortion congressman who was caught out asking his mistress to terminate her pregnancy has announced his retirement.

Representative Tim Murphy was exposed yesterday for asking his mistress, Shannon Edwards, to get an abortion in January this year. A text exchange between the pair, published by the Pittsburg Post-Gazette, showed Edwards expressing her anger at Murphy’s hypocrisy in his strong anti-abortion stance when he literally asked her to get one.

In a statement to Pittsburgh CBS affiliate KDKA, the Republican lawmaker said he would not seek reelection in 2018, and will spend his remaining time in Congress working on mental health care reform. (Helpful, when his colleagues keep trying to take away mental health-covering insurance from Americans literally every other week.)

“After discussions with my family and staff, I have come to the decision that I will not seek reelection to Congress at the end of my current term,” he said.

“In the coming weeks I will take personal time to seek help as my family and I continue to work through our personal difficulties and seek healing. I ask you to respect our privacy during this time.”

Sometimes, real life stories do have a happy ending.
