Telstra Has Fastest Internet Speeds For Mobile Phones

This article will load faster on your Iphone if you’re with Telstra.

Those are the results delivered today from The Sydney Morning Herald’s speed test, in which they trialled phones (read: Iphone 4s – apparently nobody uses Blackberrys anymore) on different carriers at various places around the city, which saw Australia’s longest serving Telco delivering the fastest download and upload speeds for data. Telstra users, on average, could download a three minute song in around 8 seconds, according to the survey.

If you’re with Optus, never fear, because they’re only losing to Telstra by the slimmest of margins – approximately one a second slower in most cases. Not such good news (in case you hadn’t guessed it) for Vodafone, who continued in their tradition of Vodafailing by falling way short of the mark.

This is serious business; in the five seconds extra it takes to load something on a Vodafone phone (even more on 3, who they own anyway) you have won an argument at a pub or cheated at trivia by looking up when Elvis died on Wikipedia.

Thanks a lot, you g…uy [error, unable to load data. Please check internet connection].
