In a statement, NSW Police Force said officers were called to the residence in Ingleburn around 9:40pm after a large brawl spread from a party and on to the street.

Officers found Alex Ioane unconscious at the scene with serious head injuries. He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

After inquiries into the brawl, which allegedly saw baseball bats and golf clubs used as weapons, police yesterday attended a home in Eagle Vale where they arrested two males ages 17 and 18.

Both suspects were charged at Campbelltown Police Station, where they were refused bail.

The accused are slated to face court today. The 17-year-old will appear before a children’s court, while the 18-year-old will front Campbelltown Local Court.

A further search warrant obtained for a home in Campbelltown, where officers took several items.

Earlier, Ioane’s friend Freda Tuese told The Sydney Morning Herald the brawl started over a minor incident.

It had escalated from “something petty, something little that happened inside the party,” Tuese said.

“We obviously did not know that this was going to happen.”

Investigations are ongoing.
