If you’re not so familiar with teamLab, it’s a Tokyo-based creative group of various artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects. The end result is other-worldly.

Here’s a peak at teamLab Borderless in Tokyo.

As part of the Melbourne International Arts Festival, teamLab will be returning to the city for a new and undoubtedly popular exhibition called Reversible Rotation. In it, four screens will take over Tolarno Galleries, showcasing the motion of hundreds of thousands of digital particles. These are then projected as cascades of shimmering luminescence. In other words, it’s going to feel like you’re floating in a giant wave made of light.

teamLab featured in the NGV’s Triennial exhibition a couple of years back. It was just a tad popular.

Reversible Rotation will open its doors this Saturday, 5 October until Saturday, 2 November 2019.

Registration is not required and the event is completely free so LOCK IT IN RIGHT NOW. Also, it’s going to be 14/10 packed so prep accordingly. Not to mention it’s going to be absolutely everywhere on Instagram.

teamLab Reversible Rotation kicks off this Saturday at Tolarno Galleries – Level 4, 104 Exhibition Street.

Doors open 10am-5pm, Tuesday to Friday, and 1pm-5pm on Saturdays.
