Taylor Swift has delivered her testimony in her ongoing civil trial against former radio host David Mueller, who she accuses of groping her at a backstage meet-and-greet back in 2013.
Describing the incident as “horrifying and shocking,” Swift shot back at questions from Mueller’s attorney Gabriel McFarland. “What Mr. Mueller did was very intentional,” she said, countering the fired DJ’s testimony. “I am critical of your client for sticking his hand under my skirt and grabbing my ass.”
Swift alleges that the then-host on radio station KYGO grabbed her at a backstage event. At the time, Swift’s team informed KYGO staff about the incident, and Mueller was fired after an internal investigation. Mueller sued Swift, her mother, and her radio promotions director Frank Bell in 2015, alleging that the accusation was false and that they had pressured KYGO to fire him.
Swift then filed a countersuit – which we are currently seeing play out in court – which alleged that Mueller reached under her dress and grabbed her buttocks while posing for a photo.
“It was a definite grab… a very long grab,” she said. “It was intentional. He stayed latched onto my bare ass cheek,”
“I felt him grab onto my ass cheek under my skirt. He grabbed my ass underneath my skirt.”
The singer, who was 23 at the time of the alleged incident, said that she had no reaction to learning that Mueller was fired:
I’m not going to allow you or your client to make me feel in any way that this is my fault, because it isn’t. I am being blamed for the unfortunate events of his life that are a product of his decisions and not mine.
“Gabe, this is a photo of him with his hand up my skirt – with his hand on my ass,” she said. “You can ask me a million questions – I’m never going to say anything different. I never have said anything different.”
McFarland pointed out that the front of Swift’s skirt did not appear to be lifted in the photo, but the singer shot back. “Because my ass is located in the back of my body,” she said
