Tassie Burglar Cops 9 Months In Jail Thanks To Pubes He Left In The Turlet

A Devonport man will spend at least 9 months in jail for breaking into a robbing a house, having been nabbed due to the presence of his pubic hair on the toilet he inexplicably used during the robbery.

Benjamin James Wright broke into the home in Tasmania last year, staying on the premises for around an hour and stealing $29,504 worth of tools, electronics jewellery, clothes and cash. He was not known to the residents of the house.
He left behind an assortment of goodies, including medication, Carlton Football Club memorabilia and other items.
He was nailed at the scene thanks to the fact he – during the commission of the robbery – chose to use the toilet and nick a beer from the fridge. His DNA was found on both.
Defence counsel Julia Ker said that drug use was a reason for Wright’s offending, as well as the fact he was under significant stress. Justice Brett described it as a “shocking invasion” of the family’s security.
His sentence was backdated to November 17.
