SYDNEY: You’re Getting A Bar Dedicated Entirely To Espresso Martinis

DO YOU LIKE ESPRESSO MARTINIS? Of course you fucking do. This is Australia in 2016 and the only people who don’t like Espresso Martinis are the ones bitching about how everybody else loves them. They might cost a bomb, but they combine coffee and alcohol and taste like goddamn rainbows, if rainbows tasted like alcoholic coffee.

Well, here’s some good news for ya: Sydney‘s getting the first ever bar dedicated to the caffeinated cocktail.

Called ‘Tuxedo‘ (although tbqh we’re huge fans of the OG name, Dead Man Walking), it’s opening in the old Cadbury Chocolate factory in The Rocks, with the place going through a huuuuuuuge refurbishment to use all the original features… including the elevator. It better be one fancy elevator, because otherwise that’s worrying in the extreme.

Six Espresso Martinis will be on offer, with the classic coming straight to your glasses / mouths via tap. The rest include a Cadbury Chocolate one (for obvious reasons) complete with shaved chocolate and coffee liqueur, a cold-drip coffee / 666 Pure Tasmanian Vodka one, and a rum-based / single-origin espresso one with coffee liqueur and chocolate bitters. Young Henry’s are also working on a beer-based Espresso Martini, which will either be weird or wonderful but hopefully both.

Food includes everything from Southern fried chicken and smoked tacos to super-food salads, and if you get bored / find yourself with too much energy (???) pool and ping-pong will be on offer.

Tuxedo is slated to open August 12, but it doesn’t seem to have a social media presence just yet. Keep an eye on the Kansas City Shuffle Facebook page (the owner’s current venture) for more info as and when.
