Sydney Venue Cancels Seminar By A “Prominent” Anti-Vaccination Speaker

The photo above is of “Dr” Sherri Tenpenny – a US osteopath for whom the “Doctor” title is self-anointed and in no way reflects the earning or possession of an actual PhD in any form of medicine. In her work as an osteopath – an alternative field of medicine that focuses on the manipulation of bones and tissue and appears to have no concrete benefit other than aiding lower back pain – she has strongly concluded that she believes that vaccinations are the direct and root cause of the autism, ADHD, asthma and auto-immune disorders. She is coming to Australia to give talks – for which one must purchase tickets at some cost – that are aimed at Mums to warn them from vaccinating their children.

Or to put it another way, Sherri Tenpenny is a dangerous person.
Fortunately, popular opinion does not share her “viewpoint” on the issue. And when I say “popular opinion” I really mean “science has had to waste far too much time on this bullshit because a few stubborn idiots with loud voices have been using panic to shill their homeopathic claptrap to gullible fools at inflated prices despite the fact that time and time again research has conclusively found absolutely no link between vaccines and autism.”
Better still, the Sydney venue that was to host Tenpenny’s seminar has decided they don’t want to poke this particular hornet’s nest and have cancelled her booking. The Kareela Golf and Social Club‘s general manager Dennis Skinner confirms as such:
The club as a venue, we don’t have a position for or against this, we just decided the subject matter was too controversial for us to be involved in.
Whilst in Melbourne, a group of actual Doctors has cancelled their own booking at a venue after learning the venue had also taken a booking from Tenpenny.
Tenpenny’s tour organiser Stephanie Messenger stated her disappointment in the decision:

They say they want parents to make an informed choice, but you can’t do that if you don’t have all the information. So they are trying to suppress the information.

One can’t help but wonder if that “all the information” claim means that Tenpenny would be talking about the fact that cases of measles – a vaccine-preventable disease – doubled last year, with three unrelated people contracting the illness after attending RMIT‘s recent graduation ceremony at Etihad Stadium. Y’know, just as an example.
Pro-vaccination groups have lobbied the (new) Immigration Minister Peter Dutton to deny Tenpenny’s visa. Not at all unlike a similar case involving another international loony peddling harmful bullshit for piles of cash.
The Minister, for the time being, is yet to respond.
