Sydney Man Faces Sweet, Sweet Justice After Failed Tim Tam Heist

A man has fronted up to a Parramatta court after a failed attempt to steal more than 300 packets of Tim Tams from a Sydney supermarket, in what may be the sweetest heist our fair nation has ever seen.
Wayne John Misfud, aged 47, is alleged to have taken 13 boxes of the chocolate biscuits, each containing 24 packets, stacked as part of a promotional display at a Woolworths in Kingsgrove.
The court heard that he stacked the boxes, with a total value of $1014, in a trolley, and then left the store with staff in pursuit. Though he was able to make a successful getaway, he was later identified from CCTV footage of the store.
Police allege that, when they arrested the criminal mastermind on April 15 and asked about the alleged incident, he said:
“Yeah, I did it.”
The man was granted conditional bail yesterday, after missing an earlier scheduled appearance. His matter will be heard before Sutherland Local Court on April 21.
