An apartment building in Sydney Olympic Park has been evacuated after residents reported hearing “cracking” sounds coming from the structure.
Police, firefighters and ambulances are present at the scene outside Opal Tower on Brushbox Street, and an exclusion zone has been set up which includes the nearby train station. The building’s residents have been successfully evacuated.

A number of residents left the building of their own accord throughout the day after hearing cracking noises coming from within the structure. Concerns were initially raised at around 2:45pm this afternoon.
