‘Stranger Things’ S2 Will Apparently Be Dark As Shit, So Prep Thine Dacks

There’s only two types of people who don’t have ‘Stranger Things‘ second season near the tippy-top of their ‘most anticipated‘ list for 2017: people who haven’t seen ‘Stranger Things‘ season one yet, and liars. Dirty, rotten liars.
The runaway pop culture hit of 2016 is gearing up to drop it’s hotly awaited second season on Halloween this year, and though all we’ve got in the way of information thus far is a sparse teaser that aired during the Super Bowl, fans are still tearing apart any morsel of information they can get their hands on.
The show’s sweet and totally adorable cast of kids sat down with US People to talk the new season, and if this is anything to go by we’re all in for a hell of a ride come the end of October.
Finn Wolfhard detailed that the upcoming season is looking like being dark as pitch and far more horror-oriented than its debut run, noting that fans of the show are likely to froth on the ramped-up homages to 80s VHS horror tapes.

“I think this season will be a lot more dark, a lot more horror-oriented. I think people are going to like it more than the first season.”

But if it be spoilers yr chasing, don’t expect that search to bare fruit anytime soon. The cast also confirmed that (obviously) the scripts for the season have been kept under extreme lock and key, with the cast not even able to tell their immediate family about what’s in store, as Gaten Matazarro explains:

“My brother always asks me, ‘Gate, can you send me the script?’ I’m like, ‘It’s a new season, and it’s a lot stricter than last year.’”

“He read them last year, but this year he’s not able to ’cause we don’t want any, like, hacking interference.”

Hacking interference. In an 80s-style TV show. That can only mean one thing…

*GASP*
Millie Bobby Brown was a little more forthcoming with story details, but only confirmed what we already know: Eleven will return, and the kids will be joined by two new additions in a girl named Max (played by Sadie Sink) and her older stepbrother (played by Darce Montgomery).
We’ve still got 5-odd months until the show hits screens, which is a long-ass time. So until then continue to pore over the teaser trailer and try to keep your froth levels in check.

Holy mother of KEEN.
