Star Of Kids’ Show ‘Andi Mack’ Arrested And Fired Over Child Sex Charges

Stoney Westmoreland, an actor on the top-rated Disney Channel show Andi Mack, has been arrested and fired from his job after allegedly set up a meeting on an unnamed dating app with a person he believed to be a minor.

Authorities say that the 48-year-old actor used a ride-sharing service to travel to an address in Salt Lake City on Thursday, where he believed that he was meeting up with a 13-year-old, to whom he had sent explicit photos.

Police were waiting at the address when he arrived around midnight, he was arrested “without incident.” Per reports in the Washington Post, he is being held in the Salt Lake County Jail on $30,000 bond, and faces charges on:

“… one count of enticing a minor by Internet or text and four counts of dealing in harmful material to a minor.”

Stoney Westmoreland plays a grandfather on Andi Mack, and has appeared on three seasons of the popular show. Patti McTeague, a representative for the Disney Channel said in a statement to media:

“Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week.”

He has also worked on popular series such as Better Call Saul and Scandal, in which he appeared on eight episodes in 2013.
