Steve-O Cops Jail Time For SeaWorld Protest, Celebrates With Fiery Bodyslam

Dedicated sadomasochist Steve-O has welcomed his upcoming stint in the slammer the way he knows how: by body-slamming a flaming table, and having his nether regions being nailed with a cue ball.

The Jackass veteran posted the video of him getting “crazy” to Facebook after being charged with trespassing, illegally using fireworks and “creating a false emergency” off the back of crane climbing stunt in protest of SeaWorld back in August.

An avid animal rights activist, he staged the protest to draw attention to the wrongful captivity of killer whales in theme parks – and now it’s landed him 30 days in the clinker.
 

He also posted a zero-fucks-given message to Instagram, telling fans:

I just got sentenced to 30 days in LA County jail, and this is what I have to say about it: “Considering I’ve become a clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan, I must say I’m ready to go to jail– not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it’s nice to let people know I haven’t lost my edge. What can I say, I’m a jackass. My whole crane-climbing, fireworks debacle really turned out to be pretty meaningful in the end, too. I mean, if your goal is to make a statement about captivity, you may as well get yourself locked up! To help give back to the City of Los Angeles, I launched a campaign today to raise money for at-risk, inner city youth, by raffling off chances to win an all-expenses-paid trip to be my red carpet, VIP guest at the taping of my Showtime comedy special next month, which is called “Steve-O: Guilty As Charged”. Steve-O (real name Stephen Glover) seems pretty chuffed about the whole sitch, but then again, this is a guy who has made a living hurting himself for the lolz.

The crane stunt is also a preeeetty far cry from his first claim to fame: swallowing, then regurgitating, a live goldfish for Jackass. 

While the guy is certifiably nuts, his voice joins the chorus that continues damning theme parks like SeaWorld for their treatment of highly intelligent animals like orcas and dolphins, which has grown louder still since 2013’s epic doco Blackfish (and forced a huge loss of income).
