In some lovely news, the good people over at Google have honoured legendary conservationist Steve Irwin on what would have been his 57th birthday.

The logo on Google’s global homepage turned into a series of beautiful illustrations – Google Doodles – to celebrate the activist his birthday.
The tribute includes six adorable slides, each celebrating the wildlife hero for all he was known and loved for – crocodiles, conservation, and being a family man.
The last two doodles – especially – will simultaneously warm your heart and shatter it all at once.
That’s a wee Bindi and Robert Irwin with their parents.

And a grown up Bindi, Robert, and their mother Terri continuing Steve’s work at the Australia Zoo.
Cue the endless tears.

Robert thanked Google for the tribute on Twitter writing “Thank you so much @Google for honouring dad with his own #GoogleDoodle all over the world. A perfect way to celebrate his birthday, sharing everything he did to make the world a better place.”
Attached is a video of the Google Doodle.

“Thank you for always being my guiding light,” she wrote.

The Australia Zoo is the setting for the family’s documentary series Crikey! It’s The Irwins. After an incredible first season, Robert announced Animal Planet had renewed the series for a second season back in January.
In the series, the family and Bindi’s boyfriend Chandler Powell educate viewers on everyday life at the Australia Zoo and especially, their conservation work.
Season one introduced their global audience to a giraffe named Scarlett, a rescue koala, and Graham the notorious crocodile originally rescued by Steve in 1988.
