Southern Cross University has placed its Lismore campus on emergency lockdown after receiving phone threats this afternoon, police confirm.
NSW Police have denied reports of an active shooter situation at the campus, but confirmed officers from Richmond Police District and specialist resources are in attendance.
Citing an Ambulance NSW spokesperson, The Northern Star reports one paramedic crew is at the scene in an “operational standby” capacity.
Earlier, a university spokesperson advised students to “remain inside until given the all-clear,” and told potential visitors to avoid the campus.
