Snapchat Apologises For Snapspam Soon After Snaphack

The official line is that the increase in spam is because of a large surge in the popularity of the app, and that the issue definitely has nothing to do with the recent/major hack of the sites, which leaked 4.6 million of users profile details and phone numbers. Quickly, LOOK OVER HERE:

HAHAHA FUNNY DOGE SNAP.

In a blog post they said: “We’ve heard some complaints over the weekend about an increase in Snap Spam on our service. We want to apologize for any unwanted Snaps and let you know our team is working on resolving the issue. As far as we know, this is unrelated to the Find Friends issue we experienced over the holidays.”

It turns out the leak happened after a person with 4.6million friends, which were no doubt all collected thanks to their stellar personality, had their address book hacked into.

In terms of stopping that spam and getting it off your damn Snapchat they offered up this advice: “To help prevent spam from entering your feed, you can adjust your settings to determine who can send you Snaps. We recommend Only My Friends :)” So basically, stop sending unknowns pictures of your unmentionables.
