Two decades after Britney’s face was plastered over every Skechers Energy poster in existence, the sneaker company are bringing back the shoes that put them on the map.

“When we look back at the thousands of styles released over the 27 years since we established Skechers, the Skechers Energy really stands out as a look that helped define our brand just as we were hitting our stride,” Skechers president Michael Greenberg said, according to Yahoo.

“With Britney Spears as the face of the Skechers Energy at launch, it became our first massive global hit style and helped drive awareness for the Skechers brand around the world.”

Britney Spears basically invented fashion when she fronted the Skechers Energy campaign in 1999. Honestly, we should frame the advertising poster from the campaign and put it up in The Louvre.

Since that fateful day in 1999, Skechers have sold over 100 million pairs of the iconic shoe, largely due to Britney being a fashion icon.

To celebrate twenty years of the iconic shoe, Skechers have announced a full 90s revival, which trends, styling and pop culture tidbits from the decade that brought us …Baby One More Time.

A full 90s-inspired collection will hit shelves throughout the rest of 2020, including iconic styles like Street Cleats, D’Lites and D’Lites 3.0, as well as the OG Energy in a range of new colours.

Chunky dad sneakers are already in style, and everybody loves a good 90s fashion moment, so there’s no doubt this collection will sell fast.

The styles have a nostalgia element, but are still trendy AF in 2019, so if you’ll excuse me I will be adding one of everything to my cart.

The new styles will be available for purchase in-store and online from mid-November, with prices starting at just $119.99.
